Our Story

Mousehall Country Estate lies within the High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in a secluded valley on the northern edge of the parish of Mayfield in East Sussex. Mousehall was first recorded in the Doomsday book in 1086 and since then has been a working farm with a prosperous history.

In September 2017, Gary and Kathy Jordan owners of Jordan Wine Estate in South Africa discovered the neglected and over-grown property. With a background in Viticulture and the love of a challenge, Mousehall Country Estate was brought back to life.

In 2021 we converted an abandoned barn into what is now our Distillery & Winery and home to our 400L traditional Mueller copper pot still.

Before & After of our Distillery & Winery

Gary, Kathy and Christy Jordan have been cultivating the land, planting and sourcing botanicals, and launching their first product Mousehall Sussex Dry Gin.

Mousehall is not only home to our Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier vineyard, and various gin botanicals, but to our 23 Dorper sheep, 8 beehives, and Lily, Cody and Marmalade our Mousehall pets.
